The Friday before Memorial Day weekend traditionally marks the beginning of the summer driving season.
Even with high gas prices Kentucky State Police expect to see a significant increase in traffic on the state’s roadways this weekend. That’s why roadblocks are being set up all over the state to remind people to slow down and buckle up.
Since January 1, 2004 there have been over 300 fatalities and over 16,000 injuries due to crashes on Kentucky’s roadways.
Kentucky State Police say many of these injuries and fatalities could have been avoided if the drivers and passengers used their seat belts.
So buckle up Kentucky!
