A crash at Beech Bend Raceway turns fatal for one driver after he lost control of his car.
According to Beech Bend officials, 47-year-old William Sanders of Paducah lost control of his car near the finish line and crashed into a guardrail.
Sanders was taken to the Medical Center Monday morning after the accident. He was pronounced dead less than an hour after arriving at the Bowling Green Medical Center.
Sanders was one of the several racers in Bowling Green for the NHRA sports national open. The track at Beech Bend was shut down after the crash, but reopened later in the afternoon.
