The Bowling Green City Commission heard a proposal to increase the city's property tax by eight-tenths of a cent.
This means that the rate will go up from 25.6 cents for every $100 in property value to 26.4 cents.
The extra tax will equate to $175,000 for the city's general fund.
Property owners will receive a bill during October. The tax is due by Dec. 31.
