The sky’s the limit for some of the best women pilots in the country. The Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport is one of the ten stopping points of The Air Race Classic.

The Air Race Classic is the only all-women trans-continental air race.

Forty-six teams of women have left Oklahoma City on their way to the finishing point in Saint John, Canada.

This is its first stop in Kentucky since 1996 and its first time in Bowling Green.

“I’m getting to see a lot of places I’ve never seen before. That’s exciting. I’m also learning a lot more about weather and flying in general,” said Amy Schreel from the Terre Haute Air Center.

Timers mark each pilot’s time as she crosses the timing line.

The winner receives $5,000.

The Air Race Classic started on June 19, 2007, and ends on June 22.
