State officials returned to Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville on Saturday to investigate an amusement park accident.
Bill Clary of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture says the girl's feet were severed by a loose cable while on the Superman Tower of Power ride on Thursday. The department inspects amusement park rides in Kentucky.
Six Flags spokeswoman Wendy Goldberg says it is unclear at what point during the ride the girl was injured. The victim's name has not been released and her condition is unavailable.
Six Flags closed similar rides at other parks it owns across the country so they can also be inspected. Kentucky Kingdom is open for regular business hours, but the Superman ride will be closed until further notice.
