Parents of the teenage girl whose feet were severed in an amusement park accident, speak out on June 26, 2007.
In a written statement from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, “The parents of Kaitlyn Lasitter would like to state for the record, that despite claims in the media by representatives from Kentucky Kingdom theme park, at no time has any representative of the theme park been in touch with members of the family.”
The accident happened on June 21, on the Superman Tower of Power at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Officials said a cable broke on the ride, striking a passenger in the legs.
According to Kentucky Department of Agriculture spokesman, Ted Sloan, officials still don’t know why the cable broke.
In the written statement, Kaitlyn’s parents also acknowledge everyone’s support for their daughter and at this time, said Kaitlyn remains in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
