Those injured in the bus crash on Interstate 65 on June 25, 2007, continue their recovery. We have an update on the fatal bus crash.

Two people hurt in the accident have been released from the hospital, but many others still remain hospitalized after a family’s trip turns tragic.

The two, whose identities weren’t released, were at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. Seven others remain in stable condition at The Medical Center and one is listed in good condition.

Eight-year-old Kayalon Jackson is in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. A medical spokesman said two other passengers are listed as stable.

State police say a preliminary investigation indicates that the driver, Abraham Parker, fell asleep causing the bus to run off I-65 and hit an overpass support.

Parker died on June 26, at Vanderbilt.

Seventy-one-year-old Carrie Walton was ejected from the bus and died at the scene.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is reviewing the company operating the bus. Its review will look at the driver’s commercial driver’s license, hours of service, company insurance records and the upkeep of the bus.
