Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell says Americans spoke up last night when they voted Scott Brown into the U.S. Senate.

The Kentucky Senator shared his remarks from Washington Wednesday.

He continued his sharp criticism of Democrats' health reform plans saying they don't match the general public.

Senator McConnell says the plans aren't what Americans want and the polls prove it.

"This was in many ways a national referendum principally on the major issue we're wrestling with here in the Congress, which is whether or not the government should take over one-sixth of our economy, slash Medicare by a half-trillion dollars, raise taxes by a half-trillion dollars and drive insurance rates up for most of the rest of our country," said McConnell.

Massachusetts has not elected a Republican Senator in 38 years.
