Japanese Atomic Bomb Survivors Evaluated

More than 150 Japanese survivors of the World War II atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki have gathered to be examined and evaluated.

The event will take place at the Little Company of Mary Hospital during the next five days.

These survivors who lived through the devastating bombings in August of 1945 will share their traumatic memories and health problems for the medical teams.

“Without your help, we could have never have had this examination. It’s very important for all the survivors,” said Junji Sarashina, an atomic bomb survivor.

The mission to monitor and examine the health of the survivors began in 1977, and has occurred every other year.
