Three days after a Kentucky man disappeared on Lake Cumberland, dozens of volunteers continue to search for his body.
Thirty-seven-year-old Mark Sawyers fell into the water in Russell County, the night of June 30, 2007, after his boat hit another boat head-on. People have been looking for him ever since and the volunteers said they won’t give up.
This is a massive search and rescue operation from people in several counties that includes more than 20 people.
Rescue officials said if Sawyers isn’t found by day end of July 3, they’ll have to scale back operations on July 4, because of heavy boat traffic expected on Independence Day.
