Months after a report by State Auditor Crit Luallen outted misconduct in the Kentucky League of Cities, KLC is touring the state.
Officials from the western Kentucky region will be in Bowling Green tonight as a part of a "listening tour" to hear the concerns of citizens and to address the recent changes of the league.
KLC First Vice President Mayor Elaine Walker says major steps have been taken to ensure no more expensive trips and nepotism are currently going on within the organization.
"The executive board stepped in immediately and pulled all the credit cards, immediately changed the travel policy. The executive director made a decision to step down and we now have an acting executive director," Mayor Walker said.
She says a financial task force, consiting of executive committee members, now combs through all expenditures at the end of every month looking for any inaccuracies.
