The Warren County Drug Task Force has been fighting the war on drugs in South Central Kentucky for the past seven years using a weapon you might not at first suspect—a pharmacist.
The Task Force pharmacist is primarily used to investigate doctors accused of over prescribing pain medication, or patients called "doctor shoppers" who go to multiple doctors to treat the same injury and stock up on pain medication.
Warren County Drug Task Force Director Tommy Loving says the pharmacist also accompanies the task force detectives on house arrests or property searches where officials expect to find caches of pills or ingredients for making methamphetamine.
