If your child plays with a new front-loading Easy-Bake Oven, there’s a recall that could affect you.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the voluntary recall of about one million Easy-Bake Ovens.
The recalled item is made of purple and pink plastic. It resembles a kitchen range with four burners on top and a front-loading oven.
Ovens that were sold before may of 2006 aren’t included in the recall.
There have been about 250 reports of children getting their fingers caught in the oven, with 77 reports of burns. Sixteen of those burns were third-degree. There was even one report of a partial-finger amputation because of a serious burn.
You can call Easy-Bake for instructions on how to return the toy oven for a voucher toward the purchase of another Hasbro product, at 1-800-601-8418 or you can log on to www.easybake.com.
