New Information on Comair Advisories Never Received

A Kentucky newspaper reports that pilots in a Kentucky plane crash that killed 49 people last summer, never received four important airport advisories.

The Lexington Herald-Leader said four updates were missing from the flight dispatch paperwork the pilots received from Comair, according to information submitted to the NTSB.

One advisory saying the normal taxiway to the main runway was closed, had not been recorded that day.

Comair relies on pre-recorded messages to get local advisories from the Bluegrass Airport.

Flight data recordings indicated the pilots thought they were taking off from the main runway and may have been confused by the alternate route.

Comair Flight 5191 crashed shortly after taking off from the wrong runway, killing all people aboard but one.
