LA GRANGE, Ky. (AP) -- A woman who was charged after her newborn was found dead in the trash at a state prison is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

Twenty-year-old Ashley Nicole Cox was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder and concealing the birth of an infant.

Cox is being held at the Oldham County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court at 11 a.m.

Police say preliminary autopsy results show her baby was alive and healthy when she was born at the Roederer Correctional Complex.
