It's prom season again which means dress shopping is underway.
We found out more about consignment shopping and that special night.
"Right now we've got between 600 and 700 dresses," said Michelle Odle, owner of Michelle's Consignment Boutique in Bowling Green.
Those at Michelle's say they have noticed more girls purchasing consignment when it comes to prom dresses.
"I've got girls that have shopped with us for several years now," said Odle. "We've been doing it for about four years."
Between sequins and rhinstones, it's a night many teenage girls see as their Cinderella moment.
"I love doing the prom dresses and the wedding gowns," said Odle. "That's my favorite, so I'm really excited everytime this time of year comes around because I just love doing it. I love helping the girls find that perfect dress."
Odle says not many consignment stores specialize in formal wear, which means she's seen business from Nashville and Louisville.
It's the selection and price that keeps many girls coming back to save money during tougher economic times.
"When girls come in they're just really surprised to see that we have so many, and that's something we hear all the time is that we have so many because they're going to the other retail shops and not finding quite what they're looking for," said Odle. "Here you can find every brand and every price range."
And of course they're also seeing more girls wanting to consign their own dresses to make an extra buck.
"That's one thing we're really particular about, what we accept into the store," said Odle. "We want it to look like it's still new, not be stained, and just look nice. Look like something you would actually buy in a retail store."
March and April are prime months for dress shopping according to Odle.
She says shopping got off to a late start this year, but is now better than in years past.
