A Bowling Green man convicted of murder gets his sentence shortened today.

In January of 2000 Michael Penley was found guilty of fatally shooting 37-year-old Jackie Broner of Portland, Tennessee in The Little Brown Jug Tavern in August of 1998.

Penley was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

But the Kentucky Supreme Court set aside that sentence and today Penley pleaded to a 20-year sentence on the wanton murder charge.
