Ky. Continues to Search for Education Commissioner

The search for the new education commissioner is costing the state thousands .

The Kentucky Board of Education is still searching for a new education commissioner.

You may remember that the board agreed to pay an Iowa search firm up to $50,000 to suggest candidates.

Illinois educator Barbara Erwin was hired from that list for the position and resigned amid questions about her resume and an ongoing police investigation in her former Chicago school district.

The board decided on July 28 that interim commissioner Kevin Noland would continue until a new commissioner is hired.

The board is planning to do the next search in-house.
