Teenager Injured on Six Flags Ride Back in the Hospital

The Louisville teenager injured on a Kentucky amusement park ride has returned to the hospital for more surgery .

You may remember in June, 13-year-old Kaitlyn Lassiter was on the Superman Tower of Power ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom when a cable broke loose, cutting off the girl's feet.

She has now returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Doctors there were able to reattach the girl's right foot after the June 21 accident, but could not save the left foot.

Her parents, Randall and Monique Lasitter, said in a statement released by the hospital that they "still aren't sure of the fate of their daughter's right leg."

The family sued Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Jefferson County Circuit Court in early July.

I pray that Kaitlyn will make a speedy recovery. As far as sueing Kentucky Kingdom goes, There isnt enough money to replace what Kaitlyn has lost, but she will have medical expenses the rest of her life because of this accident and any settlement made should reflect that. This is a tragedy that should never have happened, and the only reason that it did was plain negligence. More strigent guidlines for the maintenance of rides such as these need to be implemented.
