That famed car the Corvette could soon become Kentucky's official sports car.

The Senate economic development tourism and labor committee passed the bill yesterday.

It now moves to the Senate floor for a vote.

The marketing manager for the National Corvette Museum says this would be an added plus for the state of Kentucky.

"We're known for agriculture and horses, and bourbon and that kind of thing. But to be known for Corvette, an exciting sports car thats known all over the world its just another thing to add to the list of things that make Kentucky great," said Katie Frassinelli, Marketing Manager of the National Corvette Museum.

If the bill is approved it will head to the state House for consideration.
