After a two year investigation and a four day trial, 21-year old John Whitehead was sentenced today in Allen County circuit court. Whitehead will face five criminal charges and more than seven years in prison.
In September of 2002, Whitehead was driving the vehicle than hit and killed 36-year old Leslie H. Woodcock of Scottsville. Whitehead is charged with manslaughter, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and driving under the influence of drugs. Woodcock's family and prosecuting attorney told WBKO news, they are glad this case is now closed.
Woodcock's mother told WBKO,"Yes I am happy that this is behind me now, but the hurt and ache of losing my son, it shouldn't have
happened and it was because of a stupid choice of young man."
Whitehead is lodged in the Allen County jail.
