Thousands of young Jews along with Holocaust survivors marched to Auschwitz today to remember those who died in the Nazi death camp.

About 10,000 people from all over the world attended the annual March of the Living.

The two mile walk stretches from the Auschwitz compound to the death camp's wooden barracks.

At least 1.7 million people died in the gas chambers, or from stavation, disease, and forced labor.

And thousands of people in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Israel stopped today to remember the Holocaust.

The wail of air raid sirens pierced the air as the country, built on the ashes of the Nazi Holocaust, remembered the six-million Jews who perished during the dark days of World War II.
