Lake Barkley State Resort Park rests on the shores of one of the world's largest man-made lakes.

The park offers an abundance of activities for all ages.

On the last edition of Adventures in Kentucky, WBKO's Brandon Lokits began his trip at the park.

Lake Barkley State Resort Park has so much to offer, we had to go back to take another look.

A major highlight of the park is their award-winning restaurant.

Window's on the Water Restaurant is located in the main lodge and has a perfect view of beautiful Lake Barkley.

In order to preserve the view, the restaurant is surrounded on three sides by glass windows.

The restaurant seats up to 400 people and offers delicious buffet style cuisine.

"Our restaurant is probably our signature spot on the park. Haddie Cheatham is our chef and she is well known throughout west Kentucky for her home cooking or country cooking, which ever one you want to call it. It's the number one restaurant, volume wise, in the state for state parks," Park Manager John Rittenhouse explained.

And after a great meal, you may want to head back to your room and take a little nap.

Lake Barkley State Resort Park has just completed a $6-million renovation and the rooms certainly reflect that investment.

"The rooms are as nice as any upscale hotel anywhere and we're lucky we have them in a lodge setting in a beautiful park," Rittenhouse added.

And what about the kids?

It's easy to get kids away from the television with all that the park has to offer.

The pool gives them a chance to release extra energy and almost guarantees that they will sleep soundly.

In addition to the outdoor pool, the fitness center has an indoor pool and hot tub.

There's also a game room complete with a video arcade, pool, ping pong and the timeless classic checkers.

With all the activity here, make sure to take the time to stop and take it all in.
