There's plenty to do and something for everyone at the Kentucky State Fair.

The Aug. 23 events included competitions for a number of exhibits including livestock, antiques, arts and crafts and homemade wine, among others.

While the fair is full of people competing in these shows , there's so much to do at the fair that it makes it hard to pick and choose sometimes.

"Most of the time we have something to show, but this year we haven't had a lot of time," Hardyville resident Kaylee Vierstra explained.

Some of the big highlights for Aug. 23 include a free concert by country music artist Jo-Dee Messina, with special guest Steve Holy.

This will take place at Cardinal Stadium at 8 p.m.

During the next few days we'll continue to bring you more stories from the Kentucky State Fair.
