A University of Kentucky graduate has paid $200,000 for the grand champion ham at the state fair.
The ham was bought by the Tom Lewis Foundation and the money will be used to fund scholarships.
Terry Bradshaw of the sponsoring Kentucky Farm Bureau said the money will be used to endow scholarships for undergraduate U.K. students. Half of it will go to students from Eastern Kentucky.
The more than 16 pound ham came from Scott Farms of Greenville.
