Kentucky's third largest lake receives additional funding to entice tourists, boat owners and campers to the area.

On Aug. 31, Governor Fletcher and Congressman Hal Rogers presented a $400,000 check to the Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association.

They are sending a message that even while repairs are made to Wolf Creek Dam, there's still plenty of water for boating, recreation and fishing.

The funding will allow the creation of a database of visitors who have enjoyed Lake Cumberland in the past.

Contact will be made over the winter months as people begin going to boat shows and planning vacations for 2008.
