This may come as a surprise, but people say Lake Cumberland had plenty of water to enjoy this summer despite problems with Wolf Creek Dam.
The lake was lowered 40 feet to take pressure off the leaking dam.
Many people who depend on the lake's tourism feared boaters would stay away and there were even misconceptions that the lake was drained.
"35,000 acres is plenty of water. And if you're not an every weekend visitor, you wouldn't even notice that the lake is down," explained Herstel Thompson, with the Conley Bottom Resort.
Marina operators did notice a downturn in business this summer, but they expect a turn around for next year because the lake should remain at its current level.
