WBKO Anchor Receives National Award

You may be wondering why Amy Bingham was missing off the anchor desk the past few days.
It's because she was in St. Louis receiving a national award.

Amy received the award on Friday for a series that aired on WBKO last September.

The series was a three part piece called "DUI: Destroying Lives".

Amy was flown to St. Louis by the "Mothers Against Drunk Driving" organization to receive her award and to speak.

"To be recognized by MADD...It's really a privelege that I was able to bring my 10-year-old daughter and mother to hear all these compelling stories," Amy said when receiving her award.

As for her series, if you didn't have the opportunity to see it, it will be on our homepage on WBKO for you to view.

Just click on the videoplayer on the right-hand side of the screen.

Congratulations to Amy for her national recognition by "Mothers Against Drunk Driving."

I am very proud to know that Amy represented BG. She is a wonderful asset to the news team and to the community! I saw the three series on DUI and it was very emotional and I appreciate Amy being able to talk to the people that DUI has directly affected their lives here in our community. Thanks Amy for all you do!
