A summer "traffic enforcement" campaign is underway in an effort to cut down on accidents that cause injuries and fatalities.
Kentucky State Police say the campaign will include more than 1,000 safety checkpoints across the state.
The effort started this month and will end September 6.
Last year 226 people were killed in Kentucky between June 1 and September 6 due to car accidents.
