Somerset Pays Tribute to Emergency Service Members

Somerset recognizes its police and firefighters during a 9-11 service in the city's downtown.

"Women of the World" hosted a flag raising and paid honor to officers and first responders.

Organizers say police and firefighters should be respected for their daily service and the risks they take in order to protect others.

Some people say 9-11 changed the way they view them.

"We look at them more as heroes of the community now and I think people give them more respect because of that," said Jennifer Morgan, with Women of the World.

Also in Pulaski County, police, Army National Guard and high school students gathered in Burnside for a commemoration event.
