Helicopter Hits Power Line, Kills Three Ft. Campbell Soldiers

Fort Campbell releases the names of three soldiers killed when their helicopter crashed in a pasture in northeast Alabama.

A company commander, a helicopter pilot and a repairman were killed when their helicopter crashed during a training flight.

Captain Scott N. Shimp, Chief Warrant Officer-Two David M. Stanley and Sergeant Jeffrey Scott Angel II died when their UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter struck power lines in foggy weather and plunged into a pasture.

A memorial ceremony is planned at Fort Campbell next week.
