A Monticello man is sentenced for robbing the same bank twice in two months.
Richard Washam was sentenced to 56 years and five months in prison.
Bank employees identified Washam as the man who robbed the U.S. Bank at 1970 Cave Mill Rd. on March 26 and April 24 of 2003.
After a four-day trial last summer, Washam was found guilty of two counts of armed bank robbery and two counts of using a firearm.
Washam's sentence for these robberies will begin after his sentence for another bank robbery in eastern Kentucky.
