Christopher Allman in Court in Russell County

JAMESTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- A south-central Kentucky man who is charged in an indictment in the death of a pregnant runner has pleaded not guilty.

Commonwealth's Attorney Matthew Leveridge says 28-year-old Christopher Allman of Jamestown appeared before Russell County Circuit Judge Vernon Miniard Jr. on Tuesday.

Allman was indicted June 29 on charges of murder, kidnapping, first-degree robbery, first-degree fetal homicide and tampering with physical evidence. Leveridge said he hasn't decided whether to seek the death penalty in the case.

Allman is accused of killing 31-year-old Sarah Hart of Jamestown, who disappeared June 14 while she was out for a run. She was found the same day off the highway in a field and had been strangled.
