"Connie is a silent leader" -Sue Parrigin

The top businesswomen of south central Kentucky gathered at Indian Hills Country Club to honor one of their own. Connie Smith is the 2013 recipient of the Athena Award and spoke before members of the Bowling Green Area Chamber Of Commerce about continuing her goal in making the community as healthy as it can possibly be.

"Connie is a silent leader and the Athena Award really honors those silent leaders in our community, that are really making things happen, but aren't necessarily looking for recognition. Connie is the CEO of the Medical Center and Commonwealth Health Corporation. Can you imagine the impact that has on the quality of life in our community and our region." said Sue Parrigin, Program Manager for the WKU Workforce Training Center.

Smith is the 28th women to win the Athena Award in Bowling Green.
