BGFD Holds Annual Airport Fire Drill

Updated: Fri 3:56 AM, May 04, 2012

Bowling Green Fire Department prepared for the worst at the airport last night.

The fire department held its annual training at the Bowling Green/Warren county airport last night to simulate a plane crash, fire, and injuries.

The trucks had to travel to the crash put the fire out, secure any victims, and get them to safety, which one firefighter says is always the main priority.

"Part of firefighting is to protect your victims on the plane, that's our first concern. We don't worry about the rest of the plane until we get them out, and that's our main concern," said Sgt. Jason Meisel.

This was the last night of three for fire drills for this year.
