BGMU Collecting Christmas Cards to Send to Soldiers

Updated: Fri 8:56 PM, Oct 05, 2012

Christmas may seem far from now, but Bowling Green Municipal Utilities is already collecting Christmas cards for our military overseas.

They're asking members of the community to bring in bought or hand-made Christmas cards with messages of support for our servicemen and women. They say it's a nice way to show support for those who cannot be with their families during the holidays.

"Sending cards to the soldiers serving overseas... It's just something we want to do to show them our appreciation, especially during the holiday season," said BGMU Marketing Coordinator Shelley Vance.

This is the seventh year BGMU has sent out Christmas cards to our military.

They usually send out 13-to-15 thousand cards each year, and Lowe says you can drop off your cards at BGMU's main office at 801 Center St in Bowling Green.
