LONDON, Ky. (AP) -- A man known as the "bad hair bandit" has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for robbing multiple banks in southern Kentucky.
The Times-Tribune reports U.S. District Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove handed down the sentence on Thursday to Jason Fox, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to five of eight robbery counts officials filed against him in 2011. The charges came in a string of robberies in which the suspect wore a variety of ill-fitting wigs as a disguise.
Fox admitted to robbing banks in Barbourville, Pine Knot, Corbin and Williamsburg.
His wife, Tasha Fox, also pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the robberies and was sentenced to 10 years.
The couple must also pay more than $80,000 in restitution.
