"Many kids see law enforcement in a negative aspect, but we want ot give them a positive aspect to see law enforcement, and for us to be able to go through the store and help the kids shop and get what they need, that gives us an opportunity to interact with them and hopefully bless them this Christmas," said FOP Losge 13's Justin McChesney.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge in Bowling Green helped area children with it's annual Shop with a Cop program today.

Thirty kids from the Bowling Green Boys and Girls Club participated this year. Each was given $100 to spend at K-Mart, and they were encouraged to buy at least one toy. Organizers say they try to plan the event around the holidays to make sure the children get presents and items they need.

The FOP lodge members also handed out food baskets this morning just in time for the holidays. The members raise money for the two programs throughout the year during fundraisers.
