The brother of a Fort Campbell soldier killed last week says his sibling appeared to be aware of the dangers facing him in Afghanistan and that the deployment would be more dangerous that a previous tour in Iraq.

Raymond Johnston of Owensboro says 26-year-old Sgt. Michael C. Cable of Philpot met with several family members before deploying to Afghanistan and told them he was prepared for "anything that happens."

The Army says Cable died when attacked by enemy forces. Johnston says the Army told family members someone attacked Cable from behind and stabbed him in the neck on March 24.

Johnston says his brother's body will return to Owensboro on Thursday. Visitation is set for Friday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home in Owensboro with burial set for Saturday.
