A local school district has to answer tough questions after getting hundreds of thousands of dollars cut from state funding.
Something's gotta go at Butler county schools.
"It was really disappointing to hear at first...," says Golf coach Dennis Robbins.
Golf coach Dennis Robbins recently found out that he may lose his team.
That's because Butler county schools are around $700,000 in a budget shortfall after the state has cut around $385,000 in state funding.
"My guys came up to me and were concerned," says Coach Robbins.
Golf isn't the only team that might get the ax, in a recent meeting BCHS discussed cutting secondary sports like soccer, tennis and volleyball.
The high school says they could save more than $40,000 a year if the teams were eliminated, which is around the salary of one teacher.
But BCHS says the proposed cuts are not set in stone and that they're part of a county wide budget crunch.
Superintendent Scott Howard says he's searching for ways to make the least painful cuts.
He says he does not want to cut sport's teams.
Members of the Butler County Board of Education and high school say they invite parents and students with concerns and ideas to contact them.
