Dealing With Allergies

Updated: Mon 11:08 PM, Dec 03, 2012

Along with the flu, many people are experiencing some of the season's worst allergies.

Some are saying it's due to the unseasonably warm weather and mother nature, but a local pharmacist says it may be staying inside that's making some people sick.

"There's a lot of allergens in our homes. If you change your heating and cooling filters... We turn our heat on and it's been sitting still for six months. It's going to blow everything out into the air that's been in that duct," said Hines Pharmacy Pharmacist Beth Murley.

Hines says when it comes to the medicines you can take to help with allergies, over the counter antihistamines will help dry up runny noses.

While decongestants will help break up the cough in your chest.
