A former UK basketball star and popular lawyer is found shot to death in Leitchfield.

According to Leitchfield's police chief, Jim Dinwiddie, 63, was found dead in his living quarters at the Alexander Hotel by his secretary Tuesday.

The chief says the gunshot wound appeared to be self-inflicted.

Dinwiddie played for the Wildcats from 1968 to 1971. He appeared in 72 games totaling 277 points, in just a three-year college career.

Dinwiddie graduated from UK's law school and had a prominent practice in Grayson County.
