Area Doctors Seeing Fewer Flu Cases

Updated: Mon 6:31 PM, Feb 04, 2013

Doctors are seeing fewer flu cases, but flu season hasn't left just yet.

Doctors say, they're seeing mostly cases of the flu and stomach viruses in school-aged children.

It's recommended if you experience flu symptoms, stay away from crowds.

Dr. Medhat Grace, a family physician with Urgent Care says he isn't seeing as many flu cases now as he did earlier this year.

"We are still seeing some numbers of the flu cases every day, but the number has slowed down. The first three days of February we've seen 20 patients compared to about 44 patients in the first three days of January," he says.

Dr. Grace says in January alone, he saw more than 300 patients with the flu.

He still highly recommends everyone get the flu vaccine.
