LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky State Police say they have arrested a dump truck driver on charges of murder and operating a commercial vehicle under the influence of intoxicants in connection with a fatal crash last year.
Police said in a statement that 42-year-old Eric D. Jenkins was arrested Tuesday after a grand jury in Anderson County handed down an indictment.
The charges stem from a crash in September. Police say Jenkins was driving a dump truck when he crossed the center line and hit a car driven by Marie Garmon of Lawrenceburg. Garmon died a few days after the head-on crash.
Jenkins is lodged in the Shelby County jail under a $100,000 bond.
Online jail records didn't indicate whether Jenkins has an attorney.
