FOP Packs Almost 150 Meal Boxes For Families In Need

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Volunteers at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge were loading boxes Sunday to feed almost 150 families this Christmas week.

The Bowling Green FOP says they've done this each Thanksgiving and Christmas for about 30 years.

They also say it's a community effort -- from the volunteers like area high schoolers to those who donate money like the American Legion.

They'll deliver the boxes tomorrow morning.

"It's just a wonderful feeling to see the smile on people's face when they know they weren't going to have anything and now they've got enough food with two boxes to last them a week. We're proud of that," said John Cook from the FOP.

Cook says the FOP is thankful for everyone who helped with the event.
