"I feel like I'm on a cloud, and I've not come off of it today.  I just feel like there is such a peace knowing that someone is behind bars," said Jeremy Priddy's mother Vonnie Priddy.

Brownsville, Ky. (WBKO) --After more than a year of searching for justice after a loved one was killed, an Edmonson County family says they can rest a little easier tonight. Thirty three year old Army specialist Robbie Knight has been charged with the October 2012 murder of Jeremy Priddy.

"I feel like I'm on a cloud, and I've not come off of it today. I just feel like there is such a peace knowing that someone is behind bars," said Jeremy Priddy's mother Vonnie Priddy.

Priddy's son Jeremy was found beaten to death in his Brownsville home on October 9 last year, and since then, his family has not given up hope police would find those responsible.

"This is the best Thanksgiving gift we could have ever been given. We're so thankful," said Priddy.

A 13 month investigation by Kentucky State Police, and a criminal investigation by Fort Campbell, led to the arrest of 33 year old soldier Robbie Knight.

"We've been extensively searching and helping and it's been a great fight, but the fight's not over. My hopes are if there's anyone else involved... that they're brought to justice also, and that we actually see someone pay for what they've done to our child," said Priddy.

Knight has been ordered to pretrial confinement, something that Priddy says will help her rest a little easier tonight.

"I do feel like we're safer with him behind bars, but I don't feel it will be complete until he is in prison," said Priddy.

According to Kentucky State Police, the court marshall process has now begun for Knight at Fort Campbell.

The Priddy's are gathering a memorial fund for Jeremy. They say once the expenses they've had as a result of his murder are paid, the money left over will go to a scholarship in his name.
