Fireworks Sales In Bowling Green Drop

Fireworks sales in Bowling Green have dropped recently.

Joey's Fireworks along Russellville Road says they've seen at least a 30 percent drop of people coming in the last few days.

They say their busiest days were their first week of business.

They believe the county's burn ban is having an impact on their sales.

"I think that does hurt us, I really do. I think for the people in the city, they would be more likely to buy than for the people in the county, I think it hurts our sales," says Zach Tidwell of Bowling Green.

Joey's Fireworks says it does help that people are allowed to light fireworks within the city limits.

They believe firework sales will pick up again tomorrow and the day after when they'll have sales on all their fireworks.
