Florida A & M's Famous Marching 100 Band Remain Suspended

In the wake of a hazing related death, Florida A & M's famous marching 100 band will remain suspended through the 2012-2013 academic year.

University President James Ammons made the announcement today during a conference call with the school's board of trustees.

The band has been off the field since the death of drum major Robert Champion.

The 26 year old died in November after he was beaten in a hazing ritual on a band bus.

13 people face charges in connection with the death.

Ammons says extending the suspension is necessary while the school works to set new rules.
