BOWLING GREEN, Ky - Stuart Kirby once raced alongside the likes of Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, and Jimmie Johnson.

Given the right situation, Kirby would love the chance to rub fenders with them again.

The Bowling Green native was a rising star in NASCAR in the early 2000's. However, Kirby was unable to catch on with a top-tier team. That, and a lack of funding, forced him to step away from the sport altogether in 2009. Kirby competed in ten Sprint Cup Series races from 2001-2005. His final stock car race came in 2009 in the ARCA Series at Chicagoland Speedway. He finished eleventh.

Today, Kirby is a thriving entrepreneur. He is the owner of Bruster's Real Ice Cream in Bowling Green. Despite his success as a businessman, Kirby still misses racing and says he would get back behind the wheel under the right circumstances.
