A former U.S. Postal Service contract route driver has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release for mail theft and drug charges.
U.S. District Judge Joseph H. McKinley Jr., handed down the sentence for 32-year-old Joshua Wayne Salsman of Hardin County. Salsman pleaded guilty to six charges on Oct. 25. Salsman admitted to stealing greeting cards from the mail and stole prescription drugs from a mail route originating at the Louisville Veterans Administration Hospital from January through April 2012.
He was arrested July 5 after an investigation into multiple mailed letters containing gift cards and prescription drugs that had gone missing.
